There are so many different forms of therapy out there
There are so many different types of therapists too
And I totally get 100% why you would try a therapy and then be turned off for life
In my lifetime I have been to MANY therapists, I have tried CBT, Gestalt, Existential, Art, Eclectic (basically a mish mash of anything that the therapist believed was good on the day) Choice Therapy, Counselling, Couples Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma Therapy. You name it I have tried it.
A few years ago mid training course (actually 3 years into a 4 year training as part of my Post Grad and Professional Development ) I got very disillusioned and even though this type of therapy was seen to be one of the best there was something missing for me.
Cut a very long story short, I left my “dependable” salary as a Therapist working in the Not for Profit sector and decided to embark on different training and go rogue as a Self Employed Therapist, offering not only Psychotherapy (Counselling is not my thing FYI) but also offering Sound Therapy, Breathwork and Meditation as part of working with people. I work from home, if people want to lie on the floor instead of sit on a chair, they can. If people want to experience and play with one of my 4 Gongs I have in my therapy room, they can. If people want to ask me a question about what brought me to work as a therapist they can also do that
AND I also have limitations around what does and does not work for me as a therapist ( I don’t answer calls at 3am…. Which I think is fair)
On my hunt for a therapy that has depth I started to engage in my own therapy in IFS (the best way to know if something works for you is just to go and try it) I was excited because not only did I get to be with a therapist who was Irish, I also got to do it from the comfort of my own home ( I love being at home) I was pretty nervous in the beginning but after a while I was getting to places that NO other therapy had got me to before PLUS I could close my eyes so I didn’t have someone eyeballing my every word
I got the opportunity to dive into my internal world, explore all these parts of who I am and I began to understand why it was sometimes so so difficult to make decisions because a part of me was saying YES and then there was another part of me saying HELL NO DON’T YOU DARE. Then I learnt about this thing called SELF Energy which in simple terms I see as the Core of who we are, our being that is never ever damaged by trauma, childhood neglect and terrible experiences. I began to learn to release the burden of my own pain, negative beliefs about myself and patterns that I took on from past generations.
Im not going to say IFS has changed my life, but it has certainly given me the insight, the tools and the mechanisms to deal with life differently so I get to change my life. I now believe something that I never knew was possible. Change Is possible and healing wounds of the past is something that can ACTUALLY happen.
I get so excited with my work because every day I get the opportunity and the privilege to walk alongside people on their self healing journey.
I will admit, Im not your normal therapist I’m interested in the road less travelled, Im always keen to integrate IFS into my practices of Breathwork, Soundwork, Psychedelic Preparation & Integration and always get excited for people who desire a more creative approach to therapy that doesn’t always involve classic talk therapy.

Absolutely everything that you need to know about IFS, how it is so so so different from regular "Therapy". Don't worry nobody is going to be "counselled" or given unsolicited advice in these sessions.
- This is purely about you learning about all the personalities that you have inside of you (we all have them)
- Your own "self" energy and how you can access this with compassion understanding and groundedness for you own self healing
- Learn about parts that protect you and defend you from feeling pain
- Learn about the more vulnerable parts of who you are
- Being able to seperate your behaviour from who you truly are so you can relate to a difficult situation from a loving and compassionate place
- Releasing burdens and beliefs from the past that don't serve you.
- Experience an IFS Meditation and creative exercise on how to work with your parts
