ABOUT MY APPROACH - SUZANNE HERRITY

I work with people who want to understand themselves more deeply and move through life with greater clarity and ease. My focus is on noticing what’s happening in your body, your emotions, and your inner parts, and working with these in a way that feels grounded and manageable.
Sessions often include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic IFS, Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), breathwork, and meditation. I draw on these tools to meet each person where they are, rather than following a fixed formula.

Many people I work with are navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, body-image concerns, chronic illness, burnout, or experiences with psychedelics. Those in helping professions often find this work particularly supportive, as it can help regulate overwhelm and build resilience.

While neurodiversity isn’t a specific focus, I welcome neurodivergent clients and aim to work in ways that respect difference and avoid pathologising.

The pace and focus of sessions are guided by your experience in the moment. Together, we explore patterns, address challenges, and notice possibilities for change in ways that feel safe and manageable.
A little more about me
Originally from Ireland, moving to Australia gave me space to step away from longstanding familial and cultural pressures and begin carving a path aligned with my own values. From a young age, I held myself to high expectations, believing that anything less than perfect was not enough. Over time, this contributed to experiences of anxiety, depression, self-criticism, and body dissatisfaction.

Like many people, I developed coping strategies to manage overwhelming emotions, navigating periods of hypo- and hyper-arousal and experimenting with ways to regulate and soothe my system.

In my early 30s, as a single parent, I chose to study Counselling and Psychotherapy—a turning point that allowed me to reflect on my values, take stock of my life, and reclaim a sense of integrity and agency. My own ongoing psychotherapy has been the foundation for my growth as a practitioner over the past two decades.
