Embers of the Ancients:
Rituals through the Celtic Year
Sound Medicine with Gongs – A Soulful Gathering through the Celtic Year
We will gather in rhythm with the great festivals of the Celtic year—the four fire festivals and the solstices and equinoxes—each marking the shifting of light, season, and spirit. Rooted in the ancient Celtic traditions, these gatherings will also honour the land we stand upon, following the Australian seasons in collaboration with the Celtic wheel of the year. In this way, we weave the wisdom of two hemispheres: the ancestral rhythms of Ireland and the living cycles of the earth here in the Dandenong Ranges.
-
Imbolc – a blessing of light, inspiration, and new beginnings
-
Spring Equinox – balance, renewal, and awakening
-

-

-

Breath, Sound & Movement to prepare the body and soul to receive the Gong
The Power of the Gong
The Gong is more than sound—it is vibration, medicine, and mystery. Its tones flow through you like waves, resonating through skin and bone, soothing the nervous system, and opening pathways of the soul.
Sound Medicine with Gongs is not simply meditation. For centuries, the Gong has been honoured in ritual and ceremony as a bridge between worlds, a companion in healing, and a guide into the unseen. Resting in its resonance, you enter a sacred space where sound becomes prayer, silence becomes revelation, and your being remembers its ancient rhythms.

🌾 What is Lughnasa?
Lughnasa (pronounced LOO-nah-sah) is a traditional Celtic festival that marks the beginning of the harvest season. In the Southern Hemisphere, we honour Lughnasa in February, when the energy of late summer calls us to pause, reflect, and gather the fruits of our efforts.
✨ What It Symbolises
-
A time to acknowledge what you’ve been growing — in your life, work, or inner world
-
An opportunity to give thanks for the abundance you’ve received
-
A moment to pause, celebrate, and set clear intentions for what you wish to carry forward
-
A reminder that with every harvest, there’s also a gentle release — of what’s complete or no longer needed
Lughnasa invites us to honour the balance of effort and reward, and to celebrate the journey so far before turning inward with the changing seasons.
