Sound Therapy & Gongs
Rest in the deep, resonant sound and vibration of the Gong

Trauma-Sensitive Sound Therapy, Gong Therapy & Nervous System Support in Melbourne
Sound Therapy is a somatic, trauma-sensitive approach that uses vibration, frequency, and resonance to support the nervous system in returning to balance — and the body in feeling more at home within itself.
It can be offered as a standalone session or integrated alongside psychotherapy and other therapeutic work, and is particularly suited to those who find it difficult to access rest, regulation, or emotional processing through talk-based approaches alone.

About My Training & Experience
I hold a Diploma in Sound Therapy (Sound Healing Academy) and have trained extensively in Gong Therapy through years of 1:1 mentorship and direct experiential practice — developing a nuanced understanding of its emotional, physical, and psychological dimensions.
My work integrates sound therapy with trauma-informed psychotherapy, somatic approaches, and nervous system regulation, drawing on both clinical training and lived experience of this work.

What Is Sound Therapy?
Sound Therapy uses instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, and resonant frequency-based tools to support the body and mind in shifting out of stress states and into regulation.
It may support:
  • nervous system regulation and relaxation
  • stress reduction and emotional release
  • grounding and body awareness
  • integration of therapeutic or psychedelic experiences
  • reduction of mental overwhelm and overthinking
Sound works through vibration and resonance, supporting the body's natural capacity to reorganise and settle.

Trauma-Sensitive Integral Sound Therapy
This approach works with the whole system — emotional, psychological, and physiological — and is particularly supportive for people experiencing:
  • chronic stress or burnout
  • emotional suppression or overwhelm
  • trauma-related activation
  • anxiety or nervous system dysregulation
  • physical tension held in the body
Rather than forcing change, this work supports the conditions for the nervous system to naturally regulate and restore itself. It can also complement psychotherapy by supporting integration between sessions.

Sound Medicine with Gongs
This is a space to slow down.
Sound Medicine with Gongs is a deeply immersive experience. You are invited to lie down, rest, and simply receive — there is nothing you need to do, nowhere you need to get to.
Each experience is unique. Some people notice deep relaxation, emotional release, or inner imagery. Others find stillness, quiet, or simple rest. Whatever arises is welcome.

The Experience of the Gong
The Gong works through vibration, resonance, and layered frequency. It is not something you do — it is something you receive.
For many people, this supports:
  • deep nervous system relaxation
  • emotional processing and release
  • a quietening of mental activity
  • grounding and embodiment
  • restorative states of rest

What to Expect
Each session is different, and there is no right way to experience it. You might notice:
  • relaxation, emotional shifts, or body sensations
  • a quietening of thought or mental stillness
  • simply a sense of rest
Sessions take place lying down or seated, in a quiet, held therapeutic space. You will be immersed in live Gong sound and vibration. There is no expectation to share or perform your experience.

Location
Sessions are held in a private, intimate space in Selby, in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria.
The surrounding environment — native bush, birdsong, natural quiet — supports the kind of settling this work invites, before a session begins and after it ends.

About This Work
This work sits at the intersection of trauma-informed therapy, somatic practice, and sound-based nervous system regulation. It recognises that stress, trauma, and emotional experience are held not only in the mind, but within the body — and that sound can support regulation at a physiological level.
If you're curious about whether this work might be right for you, I'd welcome a conversation.
