Different ways of working to suit your needs
As a Psychotherapist I have an understanding that life circumstances are unique for each person. I aim to be flexible in my offerings based on peoples needs and also my areas of experience and knowledge. In your Initial Consulation we can discuss the variety of ways that I work therapeutically along with the type of frequency of sessions that are available to you including the benefits and limitations of sessions that you require
How you can choose to work with me Psychotherapeutically:
To receive full value from Psychotherapy it is recommended that you attend weekly or fortnightly appointments. Psychotherapy is a process orientated way of working and most people attend for medium to long term to receive full benefits from therapy. After an agreed period this may then be reduced to 3 weekly or monthly appointments. If you are interested in Psychotherapy but are unable to commit to weekly or fortnightly appointments please feel free to discuss this with me and I can explain alternative options to you.
For those interested I offer IFS (Internal Family Systems) for those who are interested in this particular way of working that is unique to its model. For more information on IFS see the tab called "IFS Therapy"
Couples work can be of benefit when you are having concerns in your relationship that you would like to work through. Similar to Psychotherapy, it is recommended that after the initial meeting that couples engage in at least 5 follow up sessions to receive benefits from this type of counselling depending on the current issues. It is then an option for you to end sessions or engage in longer term Couples Psychotherapy
Generally you will be given a specific day and time for consistency and continuity. Should you be unable to attend at the same time and day on a regular basis I will attempt to accommodate as best I can for your schedule. Evening appointments are very popular so it is recommended that if you are requesting an evening appointment that you book in advance as much as is possible.
Drop in / One off Sessions
It is important that you come to meet with me for an Initial Consultation to ensure that we are the right fit for one another. I always recommend that if you decide to work with me to give the process at least 3 - 6 sessions to get a clear picture of whether therapy is for you. If you are looking for one off sessions from time to time please let me know and I will discuss what is available to you for these types of sessions
